Park Ranger (Interpretation)

Actively engage and interact with the local community through on and off-site representation. Represent the park in community events and activities. Serves as liaison between park staff and cooperating associations. Work with other team members of the unit for cross-divisional coordination, unified messaging, internal communication and quality control. Sever as a team leader or subject matter expert within a team. Develop daily work schedules that include tour of duties and location of assignments. Compile evaluation reports and make data-driven recommendations for specific management issues. Assist and participate in the federal fee collections activities, specific to donations, as this is a fee free unit. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-05/04/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for the Park Ranger (Interpretation) position at the GS-09 grade level, you must meet at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
developing and delivering original interpretive programs to visitors to natural, historical, or culturally significant places; environmental educator or teacher that required the development of original educational materials using a variety of teaching methods; management, assistant, or program specialist work involving the development and/or implementation of policy related to protection, conservation, or management of park areas or similar operations; or other similar work. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least 2 full years (36 semester hours/54 quarter hours) of progressively higher-level graduate education or a Master's or equivalent graduate degree. NOTE:
to be qualifying, your major field of study must have been in natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources. Course work in fields other than those specified may be accepted if it clearly provides applicants with the background of knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance in the position to be filled. Experience:
Successful completion of over 18 semester hours/27 quarter hours of graduate level education leading to a Master's degree in a directly related field of study (listed in the NOTE above) AND professional experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
